Young Anu looked
and understood.
Her father has been told again.
The cloth is not good.
Her father weaves silk cloth
on the handloom.
Her mother passed away and
left the family in gloom.
Overnight she matured and
shared the burden soon.
To sit and mourn, there wasn’t
any room.
Her siblings will sleep again
without food.
They used to earn sufficient,
they didn’t want to moon.
Till the new gen weavers took over,
with new weaves on loom.
Their sale went down and buyers,
vanished soon.
She prayed and looked at the wet cloth,
drying in the noon.
Saw a cock’s muddy imprints on cloth
when it crossed through.
She used Poppy pods as blocks to print,
which came as a boon.
Their sales went up and life
danced to their tune.
