Miracles

The beautiful Miyako Yukimora adored her husband Kenji. She did everything to be a good wife to him. When she became pregnant with their first child, Miyako was happy beyond words. Sadly, Kenji had two mistresses and five other children. Miyako was not happy after discovering this fact; and the consequences of her unhappiness meant tragedy for the women, their children and Kenji. Miyako also lost the baby. She turned Kenji into a painting. Kenji was frozen in time, aware, seeing and hearing everything.

Miyako was a demoness with great powers.

Anger and betrayal led Miyako to a life of crime. She became the feared pirate known as Queen of the Seas. Sailors wrote songs about her, made offerings to her, they feared her, dreamed of her.

Prince Ramin bin Abdullah lived a cloistered life in a Palace. He was charming, handsome and rich. He became a vampire during a long weekend of various debaucheries. His mother, the gentle and good Queen Farah al Abdullah, was disappointed in him. Upon the death of his father Ramin’s brother, the new King Fahrat of Qataban, banished Ramin from the kingdom forever.

Without his money and family, Ramin lost all his friends. His mother came to him in a dream. She promised if he lived a life of solitude and penance, he would be forgiven all his sins and would be wealthy again.

Ramin agreed to this, sailing to a remote island where he lived in a hut. He gathered people around him, over time building villages and communities. Ramin became worshipped as a great soul. People sought out his council and wisdom. From time to time men and women tried seducing him, he would have none of it.

Miyako heard of this great soul, insisting upon meeting him. She was granted an interview. For her it was complete seduction at first sight.

Ramin resisted her charms, even hiding out for several days. Miyako found him, however. She promised to give him the world if he returned her love. He was indifferent. Miyako bound him with ropes, sending him to her bed.

Ramin still refused her, and Miyako could not force it. One could never do that to someone they claimed to love. After two weeks, with tears in her eyes, Miyako set Ramin free. Miyako even let Kenji free from his prison; giving all her treasure away to the poor of the little island, sailing away.

Neither ever forgot the other: Ramin grew unhappy with island life, taking up drinking, womanizing. Eventually sailing off with a group of pirates to Jamaica. Miyako gave up the pirate life, marrying a great samurai.

Many years passed.

In 1997 Miyako’s persona was as a promising young artist. She was invited to a dinner party in East Hampton New York, to view one of her paintings. It had been bought by the wealthy widow, Mrs. Jennifer Porter.

Seated to Miyako’s right at dinner was a handsome, charming young man, Mrs. Porter’s lover, Prince Ramin bin Abdullah.

Miyako and Ramin stared at each other adoringly, discussing their mutual love for deer hunting and Haikus.

Finally, with two hearts racing, they consummated their reunion on the rug. Enjoying cannolis and champagne afterwards on the patio, watching the sun set over the gardens. The air filled with an intoxicating mixture of lilacs and roses.

Ramin asked Miyako to reanimate the guests, it was the right thing to do. Miyako asked what he would give her in return if she did.

Ramin promised to give Miyako the entire world.

Afterall, his uncle ruled it and he was heir apparent.
