The Eternal Couple
In the jungle of life’s cities,
I stop running, and chose to sit,
Somewhere I imagine must have been,
Once upon a time, a tree!
In its imaginary shade,
I pretend to myself, eyes closed,
To be the most celebrated Goddess
Of all times:
Laxmi, so beautiful, that the shine
Of my presence
Would cause everyone except my
Husband to close their eyes
In between muffled gasps!
I see not the people that walk by,
Looking at me with a smile upon their faces
Telling themselves
That here is yet another one of those
Spiritually mad persons!
Rather,
I imagine myself,
Writing a poem for the mighty Vishnu,
Celebrating his grandeur,
And accentuating my love,
Eternal and passionate,
For him!
I write of how, without him, the sun would
Douse down its fires,
And how, Earth would be destroyed
And how, humans would cease to be
Which would make of the whole of Existence
A vacuum, and how, without him,
I, Laxmi, Goddess of Wealth,
Would be, as deprived of everything,
As are the diseased in a land which belongs not to them!
Eyes closed, I suddenly find myself back home
And I wonder, if the grace of the eternal couple
Follows me, as I strive to survive, in the jungle of life!

The Poem of Peace
If the Gita were to be a poem,
Written either as a sonnet,
Or a haiku,
It would be one worthy
To be awarded the highest
Celebrated prize of the literary world
For,
A poem,
It would be,
Enunciating the beauty that life is
When lived it is
With principles that rhyme
With the state of being
And of letting things be!
If the Gita were a poem,
It would have had to be
Performed,
Recited,
Read, and shared
Across the whole world
As,
It would have held
The solutions
To that which ails
The whole world!
Why, if the Gita were to be a poem
I would have been the one
To laud it, by whispering it
To the soul of Earth
As I remain,
A white witch,
Seeking to see this world healed
From the abscess which has infected it
And which is, in turn,
Infecting all that inhabits it!
