Yoga Poem

hands clasped in prayer.

Isn’t it more Zen

when you dare to dare?

You’re swaying oh so slightly

before anchoring the core.

Breathing in… breathing out…

Breathing in… breathing out…

You’ve seen yogis in books

and magazines, standing on rocks

by flowing streams,

white shirts wafting in the breeze

at sunrise and sunset

when time is golden.

So relaxed, so Zen.

It seems the forest

and oceans go to them.

So you stand on two feet

in the warrior pose,

careful not to flex your toes.

A revolving halfmoon,

the frog and cow,

lady of the dance.

Breathing in… breathing out…

Breathing in… breathing out…

virksasana

virabhadrasana

parvetta ardha chandrsana

bhekhasana

bitilasana

natarajasana

breathe in… breathe out…

dance the breath.
