Soumik Kumar De

The Waves

I was in my canoe

A little one, yet safe

Sans worry, sans anxiety

Then I stepped into a boat

Learnt how to float

Amidst storm, whirly waves

More I grew, more I knew

Measure, treasure and pleasure

In my shikara

Then it was the barque

Toiling in the vast sea

Tempest tossed, gained and lost

Now in the raft

Split and segregated

Gliding and gliding and gliding
