The magic of the written word

And she dreams

Kingdoms she creates

Dragons and dungeons

Wicked witches and brave knights

She weaves stories

Haunting melodies

And thrilling mysteries

Sprinkled with magic

Jealous husbands and amorous lovers

Maids in waiting and resourceful ladies

Women of honour and cunning courtiers

All the makings for a delightful reading

The alchemy of words

Immortalized by humble scribes

Bringing to life long-forgotten fables

Of hexes beguiling enchantments and mystical spells

Magic is when

The characters jump out

Touching the reader’s heart

Leaving an indelible impression

The angelic musings of Rumi

The heavenly melodies of Tagore

The quiet feminism of Jane Austin

And the deep insights of Shakespeare

Blessed are those sprinkled

With the magic dust of the creative arts

I salute the poet and the writer

Hidden within each of us

About the author – Seema Ahira

A cup or a few cups of coffee, a book in my hand, sunshine above and a gentle summer breeze all around is my kind of perfect day. I am not a prolific writer and write only when moved by the invisible hand of my emotions. I have a deep appreciation for all forms of art. “Art is indeed Tapasya” and often has the effect of bringing great joy and humility in its purest form.

In my day-to-day life, I enjoy cooking, watching mysteries and thrillers on TV and wish that I have more than 24 hours in a day.
