We travel through life
Running, galloping in relentless pursuit
To snare the next best thing
Never stopping not even for a breath
In the here and now
To enjoy the little things in the grand scheme of living
This journey is not about the destination
There is no final summit to reach
It is a personal voyage for each
Of discovering the minuscule self
An enlightened manifestation
Among the infinite constellations
The transitions that transform
Sacred links connecting the scattered dots
Into a meaningful unfeigned whole
That tugs and soothes our heart and soul
Like the branches of the unassuming tree
Intimately connected to the silent whispers of the earth
So, standstill for a while
Allow yourself to marvel
Breathing in the delirious scents
Touch and feel the many facets
Of the serene and turbulent beauty called life
And all it’s wonderful delights
About the author – Seema Ahira
Poetry to me is a calling that I cannot seem to escape. I have rediscovered the joy of writing the past year. It keeps me grounded and definitely allows me to retain my sanity by giving a voice to my feelings, thoughts, joys and agonies.
I take immense pleasure in gardening, watching the birds and critters that grace us with their presence and the long walks my husband and I dutifully take our four-legged child on.
