Nonstop fluttering soundsÂ
I got perplexed and turned around…….
There was this tiniest creatureÂ
Darting above the nectar flowersÂ
Zooming downwards and backwards with easeÂ
On top  of the blooming trees……
With happy whirring sounds , moving free and lightÂ
It was fun to watch it’s enduring spectacular flight
What a unique sight….
When it hovered in a figure ‘eight’
I stood at the patio, amazedÂ
To witness this iridescent beautyÂ
Like a chopper, it just took off straight up
Rotating wings without  flapsÂ
Then it’s sudden static pose on the bright flowersÂ
To probe deepÂ
With the needle like beaks….
Slowly I walked beneath the umbrella of the leavesÂ
There was a bumpÂ
A cup like weaveÂ
Anchoring at  the joints of the twigs
Velvety neat, a tiny wonderÂ
Like a crowning glory
A HUMMINGBIRD’S NEST!!!
Concealed, cocooned and quilted by spiral threads
And I could see a flash of dazzling coloursÂ
Some little ones with their throats radiant……Â
Pointing beaks upwardsÂ
Trying to reflect light and take a flightÂ
Towards the sky…..
I thought deep down my heartÂ
Albeit!!! All challenging times would be overÂ
And healing would begin for sure!!!
