last night she saw a face in the mirror,
with her failing memory she tried to remember,
she thought ‘the face looks familiar’
as it reminded of a beautiful girl many years ago,
but the face here looks wrinkled,
the hair all in silvery gray,
‘Is that me’ she thought for a moment,
‘but I am not so old’,
‘or do I actually look so old’,
she falls into deep sadness .
she remembered her youthful days.
when she could cast a spell,
with her beauty around.
even now sometimes she dreams,
where she finds her beautiful reflection,
captured in the old mirror.
This indeed was her testimony,
how happy she feels,
reliving those days,
when she basked in the glory of her beauty,
while the world stood in awe,
when her dreams ends abruptly,
she finds herself staring at the stark reality,
which is far from being beautiful,
the wrinkled face tells more than her life,
it tells the roadmaps of her journey,
she surely has earned her wrinkles well
each line on face telling a tale,
for living all those years on earth,
looking the way she looks perfectly perfect,
away from the lies and deception
unraveling her real face
to the world with pride
without any secrets
without any mask
being beautiful inside out .
She looks as her reflection
one more time with self love
and says “ I know I am beautiful’.
