The rippling effect of edgy emotions

anger, aggression, impulsive reaction

grabbing people's attention

for insane reasons

shed like dry autumn leaves

at the foot of haughty hills

carried away by tranquilizing breeze

making room for resurrection, rebirth and peace

I witness the heavenly azure sky 

celebrating, dancing around

with a slice of golden sun 

and become one

sparking renewal of dreams, 

giving birth to shades of green

A search for knowledge and peace 

has just begun 

I'm exploring my abilities and learning new skills

Entering a new phase of life

Like earth welcoming the spring

Bio

Pragya Bajpai, Ph.D. is a Central Government Officer serving at the National Defence Academy, India. She is a post-graduate from Lucknow University and holds a Ph.D. in English Literature from Banaras Hindu University.  Her debut book titled A Potpourri of Proverbs, a collection of poems based on 51 English proverbs was published in 2021. Her poetry has appeared widely in national and international anthologies and journals. She has jointly edited 4 anthologies celebrating the armed forces.
