Together they walked on beaches and shores,
Building dreams and making promises galore.
Blessed with a baby boy, on an auspicious Blue moon night,
He had a beautiful smile, twinkling eyes and princely might.
He arrived early, but the brave heart put up a fight,
The doctors gasped at the grit of the shining knight,
Emerging victorious, he was snuggled up tight!
The father said, “I plan everything, for this I did not plan.
The mother replied, “It is not for us, but for God to plan!”
He said, “This is my life and I will live just the way I want”,
She said, “This is our life, we will not fall prey to your taunt.”
He shrugged off all responsibility and fatherly emotions.
She held the little one close with all motherly emotions.
Left alone midway she sighed, “Love was forlorn”,
Yet deep within she knew, she had to move on.
Tired and weary, to the Almighty she made her submissions;
The betrayal, tryst, lies she faced, were made the omissions!
She started seeing life from close quarters,
The moonlight shone on her whilst in deep waters!
Years flew by with the little boy growing up.
Virtuous, handsome, intelligent and strong,
He brought home the winning cup!
At an unexpected turn, beaming in her son’s glory,
She bumped into his father, successful yet lonely.
The escapist was unmasked, to reveal the hollow within,
And now came his time unasked, to see his shallow kin!
She had often wondered, how her feelings she would tuck,
As she moved up a flight, she muttered, “Good Riddance!”
Yet when she saw his plight, she only uttered, “Good Luck!”
Lies, betrayal, tryst, makes those who hold them rough,
Those who stand unabated, are subtle but truly tough!
