From Birth to Death

Life in its interplay

of splendour and struggle

fear and compassion,

love and oppression

delights and disorders

traverses unusual routes

planned and unplanned...

no road maps; no signposts

intersections become frantic tangles

emotions are immobilised

intellect jammed; reason blocked

It contorts us into origami folds...

paper boats that cannot navigate

the chaotic sea of transitions;

in this voyage from birth to death

life will have its way, it cannot be forced

but there is an inner lighthouse of hope

it flickers on and off beaming a ray

that signals – you can change your story

unfold yourself into a scroll of courage

flow with natural rhythms, high and low

do your best to reclaim your lost self
