She opened her eyes
With a touch of bright warm light.
The pathetic vision of devastating sight
met her eyes.
Amidst the chaos she was all alone.
All that was known; vanished and gone.
She saw with teary eyes .
The raging water has drowned away ,
the house and the family were swept away .
In disbelief she rubbed her eyes.
All she could see was muck and sand.
She cried and longed for a magic wand.
Murky water rolled down her eyes.
She looked up to ask the Almighty God,
“Why am I alive when all I loved is lost!”
With aching heart she raised her eyes .
Suddenly she saw a dazzling light.
With it she got an insight .
she saw with wide opened eyes.
A new born baby came with a wave.
She knew it was a miraculous escape .
She gathered strength forgetting her plight .
Got up and hugged the crying baby so tight.
With the helpless baby clinging to her bosom .
Will to live and reason to rebuild blossomed.
