Great courage,
Great endurance,
Required in the face
Of great conflict.
The battle wearied me
Escape impossible.
The battlefield, not outside
Though our conflicts seem to
Begin there.
It is in our heart
That angels rage at demons.
And our inner demons
Summon this same force
In others.
And each encounter
Becomes an opportunity for
A pearl of forgiveness
To be fashioned
From the painful necrosis
Borne.
Wisdom born.
I must ensure
That I endure.
By enduring this.
Taking torment
As nutrient
To rise out of dormancy
From agonised apathy
To ecstasy.
The garden of thorns
Shall blossom roses
When I am unafraid
To bleed.
When bleeding,
I can stand to
Watch my wounds
Turn into flowers
Courageously lifting up
Fragile petals
Vibrant, colourful fragrant.
Beautiful is the blooming
Of courage in the frail heart
Of timidity.
