Ellie Bates Chappell is a multi-faceted creative who started out by editing and writing her school’s newsletter in the third grade. Elected as the first editor of her high school’s Literary Magazine, she was asked to write an op-ed column in the Daily Cougar at the University of Houston where she received her bachelor’s degree in Media Production.
Ever driven to express herself creatively, Ellie taught herself graphic design, drawing, and painting. After moving to Charlotte, she became a professional copywriter and earned an Associate degree in Graphic Design at the Art Institute.
Leaving her day job in 2018, she traded in her shadow career to become the fiction writer she had always dreamed of being. Originally from New Orleans, she enjoys Scrabble,
journaling, and spending time with her family.
